Internal Family Systems Therapy California
IFS therapy to heal internal conflicts and reconnect with your authentic self. Compassionate work with different parts of your personality and inner world.
Internal Family Systems: Honoring All Parts of Yourself
Understanding Your Internal World
Internal Family Systems (IFS) recognizes that our minds naturally consist of different parts that emerge in different situations.
We all have:
- Loving parts that seek connection and affection
- Protective parts that keep us safe from perceived threats
- Manager parts that help us accomplish tasks and maintain control
- Wounded parts that carry pain and unmet needs
Â
In healthy family systems, these parts work together harmoniously.
When Parts Become Extreme
Sometimes, when we grow up in dysfunctional environments, our parts can become:
- Polarized - Fighting against each other
- Extreme - Taking on roles beyond their natural function
- Conflictual - Creating internal chaos and confusion
When survival parts take over, our true Self - the wise, compassionate, curious core of who we are - can become eclipsed or lost.
My Journey to IFS
In our work together, you'll learn to:

Do you feel stuck and struggle with symptoms that seem related to your past? Do you find yourself caught in patterns of anxiety, depression, or relationship difficulties that feel familiar yet overwhelming? You're not alone, and healing is possible.
The Power of Integrative Therapy
When we combine approaches like EMDR and IFS, clients benefit from multiple pathways to healing. EMDR can process specific traumatic memories while IFS addresses the broader internal system affected by those experiences. This integrative approach recognizes that healing isn't one-size-fits-all—different aspects of your experience may respond better to different therapeutic tools. Together, these modalities offer both targeted trauma processing and comprehensive internal relationship healing, creating more complete and lasting recovery.
